PM52 – forming section

The sounds heard in this recording are coming from the forming section of Braviken paper mill’s PM52 – a large scale paper machine. In the forming section, or wet end of the paper machine, molecular linkages between fibres are formed by wetting the pulp. Pressure is then applied to the paper pulp in a number of steps, and the pulp is drained of fluids.
