Paper manufacturing by hand: the “Dutch”

The second step in the manufacturing is placing the fiber in a machine simply called the Dutch - since it was invented by a dutch engineer in the 17th century. This is a machine that is used for creating the mass that is then created into paper - 2 kilos of fiber is mixed with 70 liters of water to create the mass.

Photo and recording by Erik Pålsson, big thanks to Roland at Holmens museum who does this two days a week on his free time.
