The city of Linköping (Sweden) have experimented with a kind of noise reducing asphalt. The idea is that this asphalt can replace noise barrier walls for sound reduction. The asphalt is located at “Industrigatan” in Linköping between “Ryds motionscentrum” and “Barhäll”. This is a recording with the noise reducing asphalt in left channel and the ordinary asphalt in (from the same road just before the noise reducing) the right channel (best to use headphones).
