Electricity Wind Wind turbine

Wind turbine

A wind turbine is a device that converts kinetic energy from the wind into electrical power. Horizontal-axis wind turbines (HAWT) have the main rotor shaft and electrical generator at the top of a tower, and must be pointed into the wind.

Tower height: 99,5 meters to the hub
Length of wing: 49 meters
rotor diameter: 101 meters
Manufacture and type: Siemens SWT-2,3-101

Maximal production: 6 500 MWh/year

Electricity production is at most 2.3-MW (2300 kWh / h).
A wind speed of 12 m / s is needed to achieve that effect.
When the wind blows more than 25 m / s the wings are angled and the plant is closing down.
