#fridaysforfuture Munich I: Practicing Slogans at Rally

#fridaysforfuture is a youth protest movement that demands more dedicated climate politics. Swedish teenager Greta Thunberg has started the movement, when she went on a school strike for three weeks in August 2018. Every day she sat in front of the Swedish parliament to protest against the lack of action on climate change. She has continued to strike every friday. All over Europe many pupils have followed her example.

This recording was made on a #fridaysforfuture demonstration in Munich. A couple of hundreds of pupils demonstrated for climate justice. They started on Kaiser-Ludwig-Platz (close to Theresienwiese) and walked down Paul-Heyse-Straße towards Königsplatz passing Munich central station.

Towards the end of a short rally and open mic session at Kaiser-Ludwig-Platz the pupils started to practice the slogans for their march. They chanted “Kohle! Stop!” (Coal! Stop!) and “Klimaschutz ist kein Verbrechen” (Climate protection is not a crime!) Loud music was played through speakers on a bus.
