This is a kitchen scale made by the Swedish company Nils Johan in the 1970s. Nils Johan was a prominent manufacturer of kitchenware in Sweden and many products that remain popular to this day were manufactured by them and their famous designers, such as the tin opener Röda Clara or the many different kinds of cutlery they manufactured. I daresay that Nils Johan products has been in as many Swedish homes as IKEA furniture.
This is a weighing scale that is supposed to be mounted on the wall, and fold up when not used. When used the large orange platter can be removed for easy use and cleaning.
