Krakow tram tracks

The tram tracks, version 2

The sound of a metal rod on the tram tracks in front of hall F of the Museum of Urban Engineering.

The complex of buildings at ul. Św. Wawrzyńca is unique in Europe, being the only surviving complex of depots, documenting the continuity of the development of public transport from the introduction of the horse tram, through the narrow-gauge and standard-gauge electric tram to buses. The whole complex was built in phases in the late 19th and the early 20th century. A track and overhead contact line lead to the former standard gauge depot hall, which can be used by both historical and contemporary trams. All the trams presented at the exhibition are operational and ride into the museum on their own wheels.
