Belgian lace bobbin brussels handicraft pillow stitch

Lacemaking – pushing

Pins are pushed down on the pillow.

Lace is an openwork fabric, patterned with open holes in the work, made by machine or by hand. Lace is often made with cotton thread, although linen and silk threads are still available. Lace is typical of Belgium, where every city has its own stich. The sounds were taken in December 2014 in the Museum of La Fonderie. Claudine has created lace as a hobby for more than 20 years now, using the Brussels stitch.
