Fire Fire Alarm Fire brigade fire department Hattingen message protection

Manual fire alarm

The manual fire alarm from the 1960s was installed in a public facility in Germany. Today it is kept as an exhibit in the fire department museum in Hattingen.
It is protected by a pane of glass, which had to be smashed in order to activate the alarm. By pressing the button, the alarm is sounded at the fire department’s control center, notifying the fire fighters.
The sound that is heard is the mechanism which is activated by pressing the button.
