Bonn Climate Change Conference COP 23 helicopter UNFCCC

COP23 UN Climate Change Conference in Bonn – Helicopter above Conference Centre

The 23rd UN Climate Change Conference or COP23 (23rd Conference of the Parties) took place from 6th to 17th of November 2017 in Bonn. Fiji presided over the conference with the support of the German government. The Conference of the Parties is an annual meeting of the countries who participate in the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC), where they assess the progress in the implementation of the convention. The first COP was held in 1995 in Berlin.

This recording was made close to the United Nations Campus on Charles-de-Gaulle-Straße in Bonn at roughly 4 pm. The most dominant sound in this recording is a helicopter flying over the Conference Centre. Its purpose and model type are unknown. It could be part of the security scheme of COP23 or the head of state of one of the participating countries is being flown to the conference. You can also hear chatting and laughing people, birdsong, a bicycle driving by and a suitcase being pulled over a gravel path.
